Late Show - Boston Audience - 20,21 May 1999

On May 20, 1999, David Letterman's Late Show staff filled three planes with a total of (about) 450 Boston-area residents, most of whom had sent in post cards to win the trip, but 100 or so were Tufts University students. Apparently the show's producer, Rob Burnett, attended Tufts and allocated tickets for them. We were flown to Newark airport and bussed to the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Manhattan. We were fed, and then marched to the Thursday night taping of Friday night's Late Show. For Friday, we were offered a bus tour of Manhattan, and later were bussed back to Newark for the flight home.

The guests on the show were Natalie Portman, Tom Everett Scott, and the J. Geils Band. It was a very high-energy show.

The Late Show staff did a wonderful job of coordinating our visit.
