Bermuda - March 2006
Part 1

BERMUDA!!! No, wait -
that's Martha's Vineyard.

View from our balcony,
"Sandy's Lodge," Grotto Bay.

The hotel has two limestone caves
below its grounds.

The water is tidal, not very deep,
and fresh water drips in constantly.

Lots of broken-off stalactites.

There was also a seating area where
drinks might be served in the summer.

Here's the hotel beach...

and some hotel (feral) chickens
who sneaked up behind us.

And here's the hotel's other cave.

This one had a larger open-air space,

plus a walkway down into the water!

Rosemary

Swizzle Inn - right nearby.

Lexa prepares to get dunked.

Sir George Somers, who "discovered"
Bermuda by crashing there in 1609.

Replica of the Deliverance, one of the two
ships built by Somers and other castaways.

I think we have a picture of
Mom and Dad here...

The Unfinished Church in St. George.

Lexa takes Gates Fort.

View from Gates Fort.
Probably a nice place to work.

The Alexandra Battery.

Apparently March is the off season.
That's our scooter at...

Fort St. Catherine,

also probably a nice place to work.

This is the official Crystal Caves.

A little less spoiled than the hotel caves.

This makes the place look huge -
this is a view of about 30-40% of it.

The end of the cave walkways.

Warwick Long Bay beach, looking west,

and east. All ours.

Break for lunch on the beach.

Isn't that a... Hmmm...

Lexa goes for a scooter ride.

See the exclusive 4MB MOV video here.

Other end of Warwick Long Bay beach.

Another beach nearby - Stonehole Bay?
But it's starting to rain...
